Education

Department on Education in Human Rights is a basic structural unit of the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Department is guided by the Constitution and legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the generally recognized principles and norms of international law, the Regulations on the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and is established its activities on the basis of tasks and functions.

The Department organizes a multipurpose system of education in the field of human rights - from purely professional courses up to popular advocacy programs.

The Department carries out advisory functions and provides methodological assistance in organizing the multipurpose education system in the field of human rights.

The Department consists of three employees: Head of the department, Chief Consultant and Senior Expert.

The main objectives of the department are:

-          Coordination of activities of the government bodies on education, publicity, publication of educational materials on the promotion and protection of human rights;

-          Identification and development of scientific and methodological perspectives of the multipurpose education system on human rights;

-          Improvement of new methods, forms and content of the process of organizing the multipurpose education system, introduction of advanced educational experiences;

-          Scientific and methodological support of the process of the multipurpose education system in the field of human rights;

-          Development of curricula and programs, educational literature, measures to introduce modern teaching methods to the multipurpose education system in the field of human rights, organization of activities for creation of educational literature (programs, manuals, textbooks, teaching materials, etc.), active participation in this process,  publication of educational literature and its implementation in practice;

-          Inventory of curricula at the educational institutions to prepare recommendations for their improvement;

-          Cooperation with the International Cooperation Department of the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the area of ​​training, development of training programs, joint organization of conferences, seminars and training courses on human rights and others.
