National Consultation on Voluntary Human Rights Commitments of the Republic of Uzbekistan

JULY 11 - Discussion will be held on National consultations of the draft project regarding the “Voluntary commitments and pledges of the Republic of Uzbekistan on human rights” in “Miran International” Hotel.  This event will be organized by National Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights.

This draft project is prepared concerning the forwarding the Candidature of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the UN Human Rights Council for the period 2021-2023.

Our country has participated in the processes of formation of the Council, which is the essential tool for protection and promotion of human rights in global scale.

Currently, our country has been supporting the efforts on strengthening the activities of the UN Human Rights Council.

Despite that, Uzbekistan has not reached the membership of the UN Human Rights Council yet.

The decision of forwarding the Candidature of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the UN Human Rights approves again the loyalty of encouraging and protection the human rights. 

This important step is the requirement of the sustainable democratic processes of the following years. 

The project of the Voluntary commitments and pledges of the Republic of Uzbekistan on human rights will be disseminated to the National consultations participants.

This document is elaborated pursuant to Resolution 60/251 of the General Assembly. In this document are illustrated Uzbekistan’s efforts on protecting and promoting human rights as well as voluntary commitments on human rights.

The aim of organizing the current event includes the formation of unique approach relating to Uzbekistan’s voluntary commitments on human rights.

In the negotiations responsible experts of the several ministries, organizations, instituions will partake by giving the practical proposals and recommendations.

In the project discussion, the active representatives of the civil society institutions will also attend. This testifies the specific role of NGOs on realization of the country’s human rights commitments.
