Ambassador D.Chotonov met with A.Saidov, Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan
On November 4, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Duishonkul Chotonov, met with the Director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights, Akmal Saidov.
In the course of the meeting, the parties exchanged extensive experience on issues related to the implementation of international norms and standards of human rights protection into national legislation.
Ambassador D. Chotonov highly appreciated the positive reforms undertaken by Uzbekistan in the field of human rights in recent years, noting that Kyrgyzstan also possesses advanced experience in this area.
The parties also discussed the resumption of activities of the International Issyk-Kul Forum, established upon the initiative of Chingiz Aitmatov. The significant role of the Forum in promoting humanitarian values and the ideas of human rights protection was noted, and readiness was expressed to undertake joint efforts to restore this important international platform.
