On December 13, the National Human Rights Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an award ceremony for the winners of the “Human Rights Through the Eyes of Children” competition, which was held in collaboration with the Oliy Majlis Representative for Children’s Rights, the editorial offices of the republican children’s publications “Tong Yulduzi” and “Klass”. It was hosted by Akmal Saidov, Director of the National Human Rights Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event was organized as part of the celebrations of the 32nd anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The main goal of this is to further increase the effectiveness of the ongoing reforms in the field of children’s rights in our country.
The competition was launched in February 2024. In the past, creative competitions in this area were organized in 4 categories: “Best Article and Essay”, “Best Poem”, “Best Picture”, and “Best Video”.
In this short time, more than 300 materials and creative works from young creators have been submitted to the editorial offices of the newspapers “Tong Yulduzi” and “Klass!” As a result, the selection committee had the opportunity to discover a unique approach in the creative work created by each young creator of New Uzbekistan.
The winner of the competition was determined. Among them are our young people studying in various regions. (FILL IN WITH FACTS!)
It should be emphasized that the role of international standards and national mechanisms in ensuring the rights of the child is of great importance. In particular, our new Constitution has strengthened guarantees for ensuring and protecting the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of the child, and creating the best conditions for his full physical, mental and cultural development.
The experts who spoke at the event paid special attention to the fact that guaranteeing children's rights and implementing them through international standards and national mechanisms is an integral part of ensuring the fair and beneficial development of every child.
In this sense, it was emphasized that in order to create an optimal environment in which children's rights are fully protected and respected, it is necessary not only to limit ourselves to the activities of state organizations in this regard, but also to unite constant efforts and implement mutual cooperation at all levels of our society.
Such competitions serve to further instill feelings of love, loyalty and respect for the Motherland in the hearts of the younger generation, to educate our children in the spirit of respect for our Constitution and other laws. In addition, they are sure to be an important incentive for children to rationally use their rights established by the Constitution and to deeply feel their obligations.
