New York hosts the 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women.
The Uzbekistan delegation is also taking part in the session. It includes Senator Gulnara Marufova, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court Malika Qalandarova, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Family and Women Affairs Mukarram Nurmatova, and Deputy Director of the National Center for Human Rights Dilnoza Muratova.

Representatives of the parliaments of the UN member states, international organizations and civil society institutions are taking part in the prestigious forum.
Expanding women’s and girls’ access to justice, increasing women’s participation in political and economic spheres, combating violence against women, and examining the impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence on their rights became the key topics of the session.

At the opening ceremony of the session, UN Secretary-General António Guterres emphasized that no achievement in the field of women’s rights arises by itself. Every step forward is the result of many years of struggle by activists, human rights defenders, and social movements.
The Uzbekistan delegation took part in a high-level interactive dialogue on expanding access to justice and eliminating discriminatory norms and practices.
