A roundtable held on April 6 at the House of Human Rights was dedicated to this topic. During the dialogue, special attention was paid to widely promoting the essence and significance of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Additional Measures to consistently Continue Reforms and Bring them to a New Stage within the Framework of Priority Directions of the Country’s Development until 2030," adopted on February 16, 2026.
The event was attended by officials from the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, doctoral students of the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, master's degree students of the "International Human Rights Law" program at the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as doctoral students and independent researchers conducting scientific research in the field of human rights.
Academician Akmal Saidov, Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, drew the roundtable participants' attention to the decisive importance of ensuring human rights in achieving the priorities and goals set forth in the "Uzbekistan - 2030" Strategy. It was emphasized that in the New Uzbekistan, the protection of human dignity, rights, freedoms, and legitimate interests is being consistently implemented as the main priority of state policy.
Also speaking at the event, Professor Murodjon Turgunov, Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Professor Mirodiljon Baratov, Head of Department at the Institute of State and Law, elaborated on the essence, goals, and objectives of the "Uzbekistan - 2030" Strategy. It was noted that ensuring the rights and freedoms of every citizen in the New Uzbekistan, raising the legal consciousness and culture of the population, and establishing social justice are among the key directions of this Strategy.
During the discussions, it was noted that the "Uzbekistan - 2030" Strategy serves to define a new stage in the country's development, increase the effectiveness of reforms, and enhance the well-being of the population. Attention was drawn to the fact that the Strategy's alignment with other strategic documents is, in turn, crucial for ensuring their consistent and effective implementation.
At the conclusion of the roundtable, it was acknowledged that over the past nine years, New Uzbekistan has accumulated exemplary experience and formed certain best practices in the development, adoption, and implementation of development strategies and advancement programs. In particular, the plan to develop a "Human Rights - 2030" Strategy in 2026 within the framework of the revised "Uzbekistan - 2030" Strategy is of great importance.
Proposals and feedback were also provided on the draft of this document, which will be the second National Strategy on Human Rights of the New Uzbekistan.
