Uzbekistan Presented Its Experience in the Legal Regulation of Technology
Uzbekistan's experience in the legal regulation of technology was presented at the 19th session of the Euro-Asian Legal Congress in Yekaterinburg, which opened on June 4. Academician Akmal Saidov, Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, delivered a presentation on the topic.
The two-day congress session, "Synthesis of Law and Technology: Towards Technological Leadership," was organized by the Association of Lawyers of Russia and the Ural State Law University named after V. F. Yakovlev.
The congress, held since 2007, annually attracts over 1,500 participants from over 20 countries and is one of the largest legal forums in the Eurasian region, bringing together scholars and practicing lawyers from the EAEU, BRICS+, and SCO countries, as well as politicians, representatives of public authorities, and businesses.
Academician Akmal Saidov presented Uzbekistan's national experience in the legal regulation of technology and digital transformation to congress participants. The participation of a representative from Uzbekistan underscores the forum's high international standing and demonstrates the expansion of legal cooperation within the SCO and other Eurasian integration associations.
A total of 41 events are planned for the 19th session, including an off-site meeting of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for the Codification and Improvement of Civil Legislation, a plenary session, panel discussions, roundtables, the 9th Alekseev Readings, the 9th session of the BRICS Law Institute Coordinating Council, the General Meeting of the European-Asian Law University Consortium, and the 5th European-Asian Youth Legal Forum.
The main part of the business program is devoted to the strategic technological project "Techno-Regulatory" and covers issues such as the role of law in ensuring Russia's technological leadership, the integration of modern technologies (ICT, artificial intelligence, and Big Data) into legal education and practice, and the application of social technologies in legal practice.
Following the Congress, a special issue of the official peer-reviewed journal, European and Asian Law Review, is planned for publication.
