President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the automobile tunnel built on New Uzbekistan Street in Tashkent.
The development of road infrastructure and the creation of convenient traffic conditions are ongoing processes, especially relevant in the capital, where the population is growing and the city’s boundaries are expanding.
In recent years, New Uzbekistan Street has seen the construction of a park, residential complexes, a university, and an Olympic Village. In the future, this street will become one of the main highways leading to the new city of New Tashkent.

In this regard, a tunnel was constructed along the street, measuring 468 meters in length and 25 meters in width, with a capacity exceeding 10,000 vehicles per hour.
Above the tunnel, a green zone has been created, ensuring the safe movement of pedestrians between the New Uzbekistan Park and the Olympic Village.

Additionally, a tunnel and a station for the future metro line have been constructed in this direction.
It is worth noting that environmental aspects are considered in every project implemented in the country. The new tunnel will reduce travel time for vehicles by half, save about 1 ton of fuel per day, and decrease harmful emissions into the atmosphere by 2 tons.

The Head of State noted that the tunnel was built in accordance with modern standards. It was emphasized that such convenient roads create comfort for the population and contribute to the development of tourism.
