The meeting took place within the framework of the visit of the delegation of the PRC to our country.
During the conversation, members of the Chinese delegation were provided with detailed information about the main changes in Uzbekistan's national legislation and in the field of human rights. In particular, the development of the draft National Strategy for Human Rights until 2030, the importance of exchanging experience in the preparation and implementation of national action plans and strategies in this area, was noted.
In turn, it was noted that as a result of the consistent reforms and policy of openness implemented in China, significant results have been achieved in protecting human rights, which are considered the highest value. At the same time, it is of particular importance that the programmatic ideas, main activities, and tasks of the state system are oriented towards the principles of self-government, patriotism, the rule of law, respect, and guarantee of human rights.
China's approach to human rights clearly reflects the development of the ideology and policy of the Communist Party of China. China recognizes the universality and uniqueness of human rights. In the context of improving people's living standards, China advocates for the development of democracy, maintaining peace, promoting the protection of human rights in the process of development, and expanding international human rights protection programs.
Jiang Jianguo highly appreciated Uzbekistan's progress in the field of human rights and described the intensive and comprehensive reforms in this area as unprecedented transformations. It was noted that 15 resolutions of the UN General Assembly were adopted on the basis of international initiatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Effective steps in this direction, in turn, clearly demonstrate the growing authority of the country in the international arena. Particular attention was paid to the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the resolution "International Day of Intercivilizational Dialogue," developed jointly by the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The consistent development of bilateral relations between the national human rights institutions of Uzbekistan and China was noted with satisfaction. In order to further deepen cooperation, a number of specific plans have been developed, in particular:
- study of approaches to the implementation of national human rights strategies and action plans;
- mutual agreement was reached on holding regular joint seminars and conferences on topical issues of the international and national human rights agenda, including modern threats such as the protection of rights in the digital space and ensuring the right to a favorable environment.
The parties expressed confidence that the implementation of these agreements will serve to strengthen bilateral dialogue, ensure the exchange of best practices, and develop effective mechanisms for the protection of human rights in both countries.
