The next issue of the journal Democratization and Human Rights founded by the National Human Rights Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been published. This issue is dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On the first pages of the journal, there is an article by Tursinkhan Khudaybergenov, adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of  Makhalla and Support  of Elder people of the Republic of Uzbekistan, entitled Implementation of sector-related reforms is being ensured to make the makhalla a place of dignity. In it, the populist and humane reforms implemented in makhallas in our country in 2022 – “Year of human dignity and active makhalla” are covered in detail. It was emphasized that the makhalla system has a noble and urgent goal of improving the living conditions of the population and thereby ensuring that people live contentedly with their lives.

Today, the attention of our people is focused on the important political and legal process being implemented in our country – constitutional reforms. Therefore, the main goal of these constitutional reforms, content of proposed amendments and additions to our Basic Law, articles and interviews about the reform implementation process have been devoted to the main purpose of the journal.

In particular, the interview of Academician Akmal Saidov, First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Constitutional Commission, entitled The People is the Creator of the Constitution was presented. In the interview, reasonable opinions were expressed that the reform of our Constitution is a vital necessity, that the priority of human rights and interests is strengthened in our Basic Law based on the principle of “human – society – state”, which serves the well-being of our people and the development of our country. Current questions about constitutional reforms are answered in detail.

In the article entitled Constitutional reforms in Uzbekistan - new horizons of development by Sergey Chirkin, a leading researcher of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, candidate of legal sciences, the proposed changes and additions to our Constitution are analyzed done. The fact that the reforms are implemented on the basis of public discussion was highly appreciated.

The same is true in the article Priority directions of constitutional reforms in the field of human rights protection and human dimension by Dr. Mirzatillo Tillabaev, first deputy director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan. current topic is covered. It analyzed the implementation of international human rights standards into the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

We are sure that the attitudes of influential international experts to the constitutional reforms in our country, as well as the suggestions and opinions of representatives of the National Human Rights Center for of the Republic of Uzbekistan on amendments and additions to our Basic Law, reflected in short interviews from the pages of the magazine, will not leave the journalists indifferent.

We recommend that those engaged in business activities and those interested in this field carefully read the interview entitled Entrepreneurs' rights are under the protection of the law by Dilmurod Kasimov, representative for the protection of the rights and legal interests of business entities under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Business Ombudsman). In the interview, opinions were expressed about the business environment in our country and the role of the Business Ombudsman Institute in the development of the industry.

Also presented in this issue of the magazine are works in Uzbek by J. Tashkulov, O. Akhmadov, S. Begmatova, J. Matkarimova, A. Khudoyberdiev, A. Karimov, S. Ishmuratova, Z. Farmanov, N. Bozarov, O. Nizomiddinkhujaev, D. Radjabov, A. Aripov are also relevant to current topics. It is significant because it is dedicated.
